The TSA was invited to attend a day of outreach with ABD & Disney Executives. there were approximately 100 people in attendance at the MTSU Hosted Event. Mostly students from either MTSU or Watkins. Some members of the TSA were also in attendance (constituting the "highly motivated individuals interested in careers in entertainment" in the events advertising.

Four knowledgeable speakers were on hand that were willing to answer any questions on 'breaking into entertainment", but their main thrust was promoting their "Talent Development" program. It was a good dog and pony show with some video used for entertainment and to vary the program. But, to put it in perspective, the event started 45 minutes late and we got out an hour early.

In a nutshell, interested writers submit a writing sample, and in a page right out of Project Greenlight, a board of directors weeds through and pulls out a very limited number of 'winners". usually, this is four in the feature writing department and 10 in the television writing department. These winners are given $50,000 and a industry job for a year. It is a great way to get into the door, especially for the television writers. It isn't as easy for the feature writers as they seem to be left out in the cold after the year is done, but they have a great experience anyway.
