Meet the Judges for TSA’s “Short ‘N Scary” Horror Script Contest!

Time’s almost running out to submit to TSA’s Short ‘N Scary script contest and a chance to win a copy of Final Draft 13 and to have your script turned into a movie!


The final deadline for the contest is Oct. 30, so hit “save” and “send” now! The contest is free, but it’s only open to TSA Members. So if you’ve been thinking about joining or re-joining the TSA, now might be the time to do it. Plus, you’ll be eligible for a 20% discount to the Script-Com Screenwriters Conference in Nashville.


All the details and the list of prizes for the Short ‘N Scary contest are here, but now we’re proud to announce our expert panel of contest judges:


 

Bob Giordano is a former president and longtime officer with the Tennessee Screenwriting Association. Bob has won or placed in multiple screenplay competitions and taught screenwriting for 15 years at Watkins College of Art, Film & Design in Nashville, TN. Bob wrote and directed the thriller feature The Odds. His second feature, the horror film Gates of Flesh will be released on multiple platforms next year.


MK Kopp is a writer, director, producer, and actor. Her first short film, Slip, which she produced, co-starred in, and co-wrote, was named best short film semi-finalist in the Dumbo Film Festival. Her second film, It’s Not You, It’s Her premiered on Film Shortage and later that year, she sold the project to Sony Pictures. MK is the founder of La Loba Films, writing and producing films centered around women.


Peter Wolfgang Kremer is an award-winning veteran of television news, corporate and entertainment television, who has cut commercials, music shows, corporate training and news stories, all while writing screenplays and hoping to get one to the big screen. A.K.A. “Wolfie,” Pete is the front man for a horror rock band called the Creeping Cruds.


Bob Saenz is a screenwriter, actor, and published author. His produced works include movies for Amazon, Hallmark, and independent producers. His latest project, Operation Mistletoe, is coming soon on Hulu. Bob has authored a book about screenwriting called That's Not The Way It Works: and a chart-topping YA novel, Jessica’s Vampire Diary.


Larry Underwood (aka “Dr. Gangrene”) has appeared on Spike TV and in USA Today, Gear Magazine, Rue Morgue Magazine, and Scary Monsters Magazine as a bona fide expert on horror cinema. Larry was also featured in the horror host documentary American Scary. Larry has won numerous awards, including two Rondo Awards, a Nashville Scene Best of Nashville award, and has multiple Emmy nominations.


Alvaro Rodriguez is a screenwriter and producer best known for his work on the films Machete, The Last Rampage, and From Dusk ‘Til Dawn 3. He is the creator of the Netflix animated series Seis Manos and has written for or co-produced the series Florida Man for Netflix, American Rust for Showtime, NBC’s Chicago Fire, and the El Rey Network’s From Dusk Til Dawn: the Series. Alvaro’s short fiction has appeared in the Bram Stoker Award-winning anthology After Death and he has spoken at screenwriting conferences and film festivals across the country.
