Straight From My Heart... Thanks TSA!

Written by Gail E. Moss, contributing writer

I got my Christmas present early thanks to the Tennessee Screenwriting Association's Script-Com webinar Straight from the Heart, where I had the chance to have a heart-to-heart about storytelling and screenwriting with Christine Conradt and Bob Saenz.

Those highly-credited, talented professionals filled up a shiny box of screenwriting tips, facts, how to’s, do and don’ts, put a ribbon on it and gifted it to everyone watching. For me, it was like catching Santa making his rounds and getting to ask him how he does it for an hour and a half.

I have only been with the TSA for about a year, and already I have learned so

much and met so many wonderful creative people. Since I live in Cookeville, about an hour and a half from Nashville, the Zoom meeting and panels are essential to my being able to participate in the group. I was thrilled to find out that Script-Com would be having so much content available for everyone, everywhere.

In addition, panelists could join in from LA, Nashville, Atlanta or wherever they write from. It also gave us a peek inside Christine and Bob’s writing spaces without getting arrested.

But seriously folks, joining TSA has been the best investment I made this year toward my screenwriting goals. After the panel, I have been re-energized to finally finish my own Christmas movie screenplay. and while it might be a little naughty for Hallmark, at least it contains all the good advice I learned from Christine and Bob.

I bet they could even teach me how not to procrastinate... but more on that later!
