TSA Board members Melissa Sheridan and MK Kopp won big at this year's Nashville Horror Film Festival, competing against hundreds of short films and scripts submitted to the festival from around the world. Both of their films, which were shot in Tennessee, came from scripts that were finalists in TSA's Short 'N Scary script contest in 2025.

MK's The Witchening won 'Best Local Short Film' and Melissa's Hard Feelings won the award for 'Best Overall Short Film.' Both movies will be screened at the TSA's Renegade Independent Film Festival, which caps off the Script-Com conference on November 14 in Nashville.

This was the Nashville Horror Film Festival's third year, it was again sponsored by Screamify and was held at the Green Hills Regal Cinema. The fest was free and open to the public over Oct. 3-4 and hundreds of horror fans were in attendance.

This year's Short 'N Scary contest is accepting entries until Oct. 25. The grand prize is a production opportunity to get the script made into a film in 2027 along with $200 cash and a host of other prizes. All the details on Short 'N Scary are at www.TennScreen.com/Short-N-Scary.

Congratulations to Melissa and MK!
