Your First Writing Assignment for 2026: TSA’s “Short ‘n Sweet” Script Contest!

Tennessee Screenwriting Association members are invited to submit a short script themed around Valentine’s Day and romance for TSA’s Short ‘N Sweet Script Contest!

Theme:

TSA’s Short ‘N Sweet contest theme is centered around Valentine’s Day. We are accepting submissions of short drama, comedy, rom-com, or fantasy scripts that emphasize romance or romantic relationships. Please no erotica and keep it PG-13.

Deadline:

Early entries are welcomed and encouraged, but all scripts must be received by midnight on February 14, 2026.

Format: Maximum of 14 pages in standard screenplay format (Courier, 12 pt). 

Prizes:

• One ticket to a TSA writing seminar of your choosing in 2026.

• A $50 gift card at AMC Theatres

• A $25 gift card at Crumbl

• An additional 12 months on current TSA Membership.

• Award & Trophy to be presented at TSA’s Spring Social.

• The winning script will be circulated to our network of local directors and producers for consideration.

  
  

Eligibility: There is no entry fee, but this contest is only open to dues-paying TSA Members. Non-members may join TSA at the regular membership rate of $25/year and then enter their script. You do not have to live in Tennessee to be a TSA Member.
